Meditation in the Christian tradition for small groups
Each session is guided and includes a breath prayer, relaxation with a guided body scan,
music, Lectio Divina (sacred reading) and Centering Prayer (prayer of silence).
Contemplative Worship and Chapel Communion
The second Tuesday of each month from 11.00 – 11.30 am
A contemplative service with Holy Communion and times for silence and healing.
Morning tea is shared in the Chapel Hall following the service.
A Place for Prayer
Weekly each Wednesday at 11.00am
A Prayer Group meets for a time of silence and prayer where we bring to God our needs, those we love, and those who need prayer in the world.
Bible Study, Spiritual Growth &
Seasonal Day Retreats & Special Days
Occasional groups gather for the study of scripture or the work of significant scholars.
Listening to God who speaks through the words of scripture. We reflect on the scholarship of both ancient and contemporary academics.
The Chapel offers days of stillness and quiet for listening.
Sometimes these days are offered around the Christian seasons of Advent, Epiphany, Lent, Easter & Pentecost.
Ash Wednesday
Ash Wednesday marks the beginning of Lent and Jesus’ personal journey to the cross. During this service, everyone is invited to receive the mark of the cross in ashes (Imposition of Ashes) as we reflect on our journey with Jesus.
Holy Week Tenebrae (Service of Shadows) Wednesday 1 April 2026 at 7.00 pm
Tenebrae, meaning darkness or shadows, is a meditation on the passion of Christ, based on a service, begun in a monastic community during medieval times. The service includes prayer and silence, instrumental music and readings to accompany the extinguishing of candles.
Tomb Watch Saturday 4 April 2026 at 6.00 – 8.00 pm
A time of waiting, emphasising that the resurrection brings new life, moving beyond the despair of Good Friday to the hope of Easter.
Retreat – A Day with Thomas Merton
The Chapel is delighted to host A Day Retreat presented by Angela Hazebroek. An immersive day with 20th century monk, mystic, poet, prophet, Thomas Merton.

A Remembering Service
The Chapel offers a time to remember loved ones who will not be with us at Christmas. In a gentle reflective service, we name and light a candle for those who have died, those spending Christmas in other places and those from whom we may be estranged.
